Dr Freeman has served in the Department of Defense in the areas of electronic warfare, cybersecurity and intelligence for decades. In his new role, he will work with Bob McAleer, Chairman of Mission Secure Government and Defense, and plays a strategic role in delivering operational technology (OT) cybersecurity to the U.S. government.

Dr. Freeman has a solid track record of delivering results in civilian and military roles in the US government. Prior to Mission Secure, Freeman served in the U.S. government civilian service as the U.S. Special Operations Command (J2) Assistant (Intelligence) (Europe). Previously, he held positions of increasing responsibility, including as Director of Intelligence to the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy, Chief of the Department of the Navy’s Security Policy Staff and Deputy Director of Intelligence of the Navy. special operations command – Europe. He has held other positions for the USAF in Digital / Systems Engineering and JSOC, where he held a leadership position in Special Technology and Access Programs.
Prior to serving in the U.S. Government Civil Service, Freeman served in the U.S. Air Force with over 21 years as an AWACS Airborne Communications Instructor / Evaluator with over 7,500 hours, 1,500 combat, with assignments at Tinker AFB, Elmendorf AFB and JSOC, Fort Bragg with several deployments around the world.
Freeman received the Department of the Navy’s Meritorious Civil Service Award, the US Air Force Department’s Senior Civil Service Award, and his military decorations include five air medals, a meritorious joint service medal, a Joint Commendation Service Medal, three AF Commendation Medals, three Achievement Medals, Combat Air Crew and Master Jumping Wings.
Dr. Freeman received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science (Honors) in Aeronautical Science and Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and holds a doctorate in philosophy in computer science from Capella University. In addition, he was selected and participated in the Army Executive Leadership Development Program in 2008 and graduated from the USAF Air War College in 2010.
