HOUSTON, October 1, 2019 / PRNewswire / – Mission Secure, Inc. (MSi), a leading cybersecurity company for industrial control systems (ICS), announced Pope of Kent joins the management team as the new Chief Revenue Officer. As CRO, Pope is responsible for leading sales and marketing to further accelerate MSi’s mission of helping energy, defense, maritime and critical infrastructure organizations prepare for and protect against cyber attacks.
Contributing to over 30 years of business development and leadership experience in cybersecurity organizations large and small, Pope joins members of TippingPoint’s leadership team and cybersecurity veterans, Don ward, Senior Vice President of Global Services at MSi, and Paul Arceneaux, vice president of product development for MSi. The trio combined their cybersecurity, customer success and functional expertise to rapidly scale TippingPoint from pre-revenue to the industry leader for Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) with more than 4,000 customers. TippingPoint was purchased by 3Com to $ 442 million, which was later acquired by HP for $ 2.7 billion (TippingPoint is now owned by Trend Micro).

“We are very happy to have the dream team in IT and OT cybersecurity,” said David drescher, CEO of Mission Secure. “TippingPoint was one of the first successful IPS solutions on the market. Mission Secure and our customers benefit from the experience these TippingPoint leaders bring as we take Mission Secure to the next level; it takes a team with deep expertise in cybersecurity, control systems, product development and customer service to help large organizations prepare for and defend against cyber attacks. “

The challenge that Mission Secure solves is a critical operational and business risk, ”comments Pope. “Mission Secure goes beyond competitors and traditional IT solutions that attempt to solve an OT problem. Once I saw the MSi platform and team in action, it was clear that they would be at the forefront of the industry when it comes to industrial control systems cybersecurity. »Based on MSi Houston office, Pope will be one of MSi’s frontline interviews throughout October in support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. #BeCyberSmart
