Erik ten Hag outlines Manchester United’s mission statement in player warning

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has warned his players he will accept nothing but ‘to give their best every day’ as he seeks to return the club to the top of the game. English soccer.

Ten Hag was at Selhurst Park on Sunday as United capped off a miserable season with a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

It was another lifeless display of a side desperate for the season to end, with David de Gea after the game saying ‘the best thing about this season is that it’s over’.

Ten Hag, who comes to Old Trafford after winning three Eredivisie titles with Ajax, will be tasked with restoring United to title contenders.

“I want to build and build a team that fights for each other, is united and will get results,” Ten Hag told the club’s official website.

“We also play at the Theater of Dreams. We want to entertain. But in the end, the intention is to play fantasy football. If we can’t play fantasy football, we still have to win.”

United’s season has been littered with disgruntled players and disappointing performances, and Ten Hag is poised to give his side a clean slate but will not tolerate dropped standards.

“I have high expectations of myself and that’s also what I demand of my team,” he continued.

“They have to cooperate together and they have to give their best every day. And I would say, for me, good is not enough. We have to do better.”
